Unlocking Young Creativity

At Novotny Publishing, we believe that powerful stories can come from all ages.
This program was inspired by my child and is designed to help my child and other young creators by giving them a chance to publish their stories and illustrations and potentially earn a steady income.

As a parent, I wanted to create a way for my child and other young artists to share their creativity and potentially receive a constant income—even if the results are modest, the opportunity itself can be powerful.

This initiative pairs budding authors and illustrators with our editorial team to develop beautiful, faith‑centered books.
We manage the editing, design and distribution, and we pay royalties for life.
Even though we can’t guarantee sales, we ensure that every sale directly benefits the young author or artist for years to come.
Our goal is to encourage creativity, build confidence, and provide a small but meaningful income stream as they grow.

Programs that publish books by kids for kids have shown to support literacy, creativity and community; partnering with young artists fosters confidence and connection.

How the Program Works

1. Submit a concept – Parents or guardians send us a one‑page summary and sample artwork via our online form.

2. Meet the team – Our editors review submissions and schedule a short virtual meeting to learn about the young creator and their story.

3. Create the book – We pair your child with an editor and designer who guide them through writing, illustrating and layout.

4. Publish & earn – We handle printing, marketing and distribution. Your child receives a royalty for every copy sold, providing a small but lasting income.

Program Guidelines

• Age range: Recommended for children and teens aged 6–16.

• Content: Stories should align with our mission of faith, family, purpose, healing, kindness or creativity.

• Parental consent: A parent or guardian must co‑sign the publishing agreement and manage communications.

• Illustrations: We welcome both authors and illustrators. If your child is primarily an illustrator, we can pair them with another child writer.

Rights & Royalties

• Royalties – Young creators receive a percentage of net sales for each book sold. These royalties are paid out at regular intervals.

• Rights retained – Children keep the rights to their stories and artwork. We only hold the rights needed to publish and distribute the book.

• No sales guarantee – We can’t guarantee a certain number of sales, but we will work to promote and distribute each title as part of our catalog.

How to Apply

• Download or fill out the submission form – Visit our contact page or click the “Apply Now” button below to access our submission form.

• Prepare your materials – Include a brief description of the story, a writing or art sample, and the child’s age.

• Send your submission – Submit through the online form or email it to submissions@novotnypublishing.com.

• Wait for a response – We’ll review submissions within two weeks and follow up with next steps.
